Hello CRMCA members,

Wishing you and your family a happy holiday season! As 2017 approaches, I want to take a moment to discuss the association’s goals and direction for the coming year. Please read on for details on the Build With Strength campaign, the Standards Adherence Improvement Program, and new staff additions.

As many of you are aware, NRMCA launched their Build With Strength campaign this spring. Build With Strength’s mission is to educate the building and design communities and policymakers on the benefits of ready mixed concrete, and encourage its use as the building material of choice for low- to mid-rise structures. CRMCA has spent time strategizing how to bring this message to Colorado. In 2017, JT Mesite, Program Manager, and our Market Committees will work to take this message beyond our industry into a broader audience. We will continue to work with NRMCA to support this program to the fullest extent. Please reach out to JT to find out how you can get involved.

The Standards Adherence Improvement Program is currently immersed in the development phase. The association plans to roll out a new website and association management system (AMS) mid-January. The AMS and website will provide the infrastructure necessary to host the program database and mobile phone apps with increased reporting functionality. Thank you to our members for their continued support and patience with this project and a special thanks to our assessors for the over 1,400 assessments that have been completed since the project’s inception.

Last, but not least, I want to officially welcome JT Mesite and Emma Dolan to the CRMCA staff. As previously mentioned, JT is CRMCA’s Program Manager. He is a P.E. with a geotechnical discipline and has provided engineering and materials testing of concrete materials and concrete mix design for many years. In his role, he will lead the Market and Technical Committees as well as serve as the lead engineer for our ACI program. Emma Dolan has been working with the CRMCA on a temporary basis since October of this year and many of you may have had the pleasure of meeting and working with her through committee meetings and association events. I am pleased to say Emma was offered and accepted a fulltime position as Administrative Assistant with the CRMCA and American Concrete Pavement Association CO/WY Chapter. I am excited to begin 2017 with our new additions and thanks as always to Todd Ohlheiser and Annelise Shepherd for their hard work and dedication.

Have a safe and fun New Year’s celebration!!!
