Building with Strength at the U.S. Green Building Council’s National Meeting

Each year the United States Green Building Council (USGBC) presents a national meeting that focuses on uniting hundreds of industry leaders, experts and professionals to inspire, connect and advance sustainable building within the region. At this year’s conference CRMCA presented an exhibitor booth. On May 3rd, 2018 CRMCA’s Emma Dolan accompanied CRMCA member Tom Cummings (GCP Technologies) and NRMCA representative Chris Dagosta in attending the Rocky Mountain Green Conference and Green Schools Expo in downtown Denver.

The CRMCA and NRMCA worked together to exhibit the national Build with Strength Campaign at the conference. The goal was to introduce Build with Strength’s focus on sustainable building materials and lifetime efficiency. Many contacts were made with developers, engineers and architects around the state to educate and bring together industries that may benefit from the Build with Strength initiative.

A major focus of the Green Schools Expo is to discuss and develop new ways to create more sustainable, economical and safer schools in Colorado and across the country. Build with Strength provides a detailed look at how concrete can be utilized to meet each of these goals. Introducing the message to school board and facilities officials is a great forward step in promoting concrete as the premiere building material.
