November 2022 Executive Director’s Blog

Hello CRMCA members.

Here we are, soon entering December 2022.  The year has flown by.  We can all take comfort in knowing we are older and wiser from the experiences or 2022.  In my case, the older seems to be out-gaining on the wiser, but that is for another day.  For today, we focus on items to complete before year end, and prepare for a strong and prosperous year ahead.

Regarding 2022, we have put together a brief video recapping the accomplishments we have made together, thorough the year.  Thanks for everyone who helped us improve the industry as we should all be proud.  Watch the video here.

As we wrap up the year and turn towards the future, here are a few updates regarding CRMCA.

  • Recent Events:
    • Safety Roundtable Our joint CRMCA/CSSGA Safety Committee hosted a very successful Roundtable with OSHA on November 10th at the CRMCA office.  Contact JT Mesite if you would like information of the session.
  • Upcoming Events:
    • The CRMCA/CSSGA Joint Annual Conference will take place December 6 – 7 at the Broadmoor Hotel in Colorado Springs.   We have great speakers lined up for educational and informative sessions.  Just some of these include Mike Phillips, President of NRMCA, Libby Pritchard with NSSGA and Greg Halsted with PCA.  These 3 representatives of national associations will lead and educate us on the key issues impacting our industry.
    • Looking ahead to 2023, we will again host the very popular Denver Stock Show Rodeo Night.  Plan on attending Thursday, Jan 12.   Always a great time with family and business associates.
    • Also, we will again host the Ski Day in Breckenridge, which is scheduled for Feb 27-28.  Again, another opportunity for great networking.

As I opened with comments regarding year end, I often think of words of wisdom by one of the great Americans, President Abraham Lincoln.  I have read several books on the man and admire his forward thinking and strength in holding the US together.  I know I usually have a separate quote in the eNews, but it seems timely to bring forward another quote Honest Abe is credited with.  It reads “In the end, it’s not the years in your life that count, it’s the life in your years”.  It tells me to make the best of every year, and every day of each year.

With that, I hope there is a lot of “life” and enjoyment in the upcoming Holiday Season, year end, and the year ahead.  See you at the Annual Conference and again THANK YOU for making CRMCA the strong and productive association it is today.  Please reach out if we can be of assistance.
