“ICF for Low to Mid-Rise Construction” Presented to the American Society of Civil Engineers

The Build With Strength (BWS) team presented “Insulating Concrete Forms for Low to Mid-Rise Construction” to the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) on July 11, 2019 in Colorado Springs. The ASCE Southern Colorado Branch invited the CRMCA to share the goals of the BWS coalition and benefits of Insulating Concrete Forms (ICFs) as an alternative construction to the typical wood-framed structures seen around the state. Discussions included safety, first-time and life-time costs, LEEDS opportunities, design details, and ease of construction. The presentation was well attended with significant interaction with the Civil and Structural Engineers in attendance.
